Nikolaos Melios
Co-Founder
Nikos is the second Co-Founder of EthosLab. He is a graduate of the Department of Economics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and holds a Master’s degree in Communication from the Open University of Cyprus.
He brings certified postgraduate expertise in Open and Distance Adult Education, Corporate Governance, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainable Development, Public Relations and Management, Environmental Policy, and Social Media Marketing and branding.
With a career spanning more than four decades in the private sector, Nikos contributes to EthosLab’s mission with deep practical knowledge and leadership experience. He began his professional journey in major domestic and international projects as a costing specialist, insurance consultant, and business advisor before joining the National Bank of Greece, where he spent the majority of his career in senior managerial positions.
From 1984 to 2019, he served in various key roles within the Bank’s Branch Network and Central Administration Units. These included Head of Financial Services at the Cultural Foundation of the National Bank of Greece, Officer of the Secretariat of the Board of Directors and Shareholder Services, and later Deputy Director of the Corporate Social Responsibility Division. He also held senior responsibilities in the Corporate Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility Division, overseeing all CSR, environmental, and sponsorship initiatives across the Bank and its Group.
For ten consecutive years, Nikos managed the drafting, external assurance, and communication of the National Bank’s Corporate Responsibility Report, its engagement with international ESG rating agencies, and the publication of CSR disclosures in line with evolving regulatory requirements. He also designed the Bank’s e-learning programme on Environmental Policy and Management and served for four years as a lecturer at the National Bank’s Credit Academy on Human Rights, Sustainable Development, Corporate Responsibility, and ESG criteria.
From 2015 to 2019, he was Treasurer of the Board of Directors of CSR HELLAS, representing the National Bank of Greece.
Nikos remains an active member of several professional and scientific networks. These include the Corporate Social Responsibility Committee of the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, the Hellenic Business Ethics Network (EBEN GR), the Social Responsibility Research Network (SRRNet), the UN Global Compact and Global Compact Network Hellas—where he participates as founder and legal representative of the Institute for the Study of Local History and Business History (AMKE)—and the Advanced Media Institute of the Open University of Cyprus, where he conducts research on branding.
