EDU-WELL builds an ethical, interoperable infrastructure for educational data collection and exchange across Europe’s primary, secondary, and vocational systems. It will create standardized data models, APIs, consent protocols, and governance frameworks to enable secure, GDPR-compliant cross-border data flows. At its core, EDU-WELL will prototype a data-exchange layer that any school information system can connect to. To demonstrate the infrastructure’s potential, the project will pilot the EDU-WELL Index—a multidimensional model integrating learning outcomes, well-being, inclusion, and equity indicators—empowering policymakers and educators with harmonized, actionable insights for more equitable, data-driven education across the EU.
