Environment

EthosLab applies behavioural science, data analytics and human-centred design to environmental challenges. We study how people, organisations and communities make everyday ecological decisions, and we translate these insights into tools, strategies and systems that accelerate sustainable transformation. Our work connects environmental goals with real behavioural pathways—helping institutions design solutions that people can understand, trust and adopt.

Sustainable Behaviours

EthosLab analyses the habits, norms, incentives and decision environments that shape everyday environmental actions—from energy use and recycling to mobility and consumption. We map the behavioural drivers behind these choices and identify where sustainable actions can be made easier, more rewarding and socially supported.

We help design evidence-based interventions that embed sustainable behaviours into daily routines: behavioural audits, green defaults, friction-reduction strategies, community norm activation, and choice architecture for sustainable consumption. Our tools help organisations foster long-term, meaningful environmental engagement.

Climate Adaptation & Resilience

EthosLab studies how individuals, households and institutions perceive climate risks, interpret warnings, and act in moments that require rapid and confident decisions. We focus on the behavioural and cognitive processes that influence preparedness, response and recovery.

We co-develop adaptation strategies that integrate behavioural insight with technical planning: risk-communication frameworks, preparedness nudges, resilience protocols, and user-tested decision tools. These tools include visualisations and dashboards that keep track of national, regional and local progress. Our work strengthens adaptive capacity by ensuring that climate actions are understandable, actionable and aligned with real-world behaviour.

Green Deal Tracker

EthosLab’s Green Deal Tracker provides behavioural and analytical visibility into the implementation of environmental and climate policies. We examine how policies are experienced by citizens, businesses and public institutions, and we track the behavioural indicators that determine real-world progress.

We build transparent dashboards and monitoring systems that combine behavioural data, institutional insights and policy milestones. This helps organisations and policy makers understand adoption patterns, identify bottlenecks, and adjust strategies to ensure that climate commitments translate into measurable, equitable outcomes.
